I was born on June 21 1968 in Shaker Heights, Ohio. My family moved to Hollywood, Florida when I was 5 years old. My interaction with art and music came simultaneously in my pre-teen years. In high school, I played in a heavy metal band and had independent study art for several hours a day at South Broward High School. My art teacher Lori Murino saw potential in me and subtly pushed me towards various forms of art. My father was always very supportive of my talents and not so subtly pushed me towards abstraction in both art and music.
I played in a band in college called The Cause. After I dropped out of college, I was in the punk band NiPPle who played hundreds of shows and released a 7” under the name Public Execution (another long story). I also did a few art exhibits on South Beach, back in the day when it was actually cool. All that failed and I got a job.
The job wasn’t bad. I got to travel and meet a lot of interesting people. Airport bars are always a great place to make a new friend.
I’ve always painted a bit along the way and I’ve worked on music whenever the need hits me. These days, I have quite a bit of freedom, so I’m exploring this path, even if for a moment.
This is where it comes from.
